Well, it's been a long time coming but I've finally got my Custom Fields extension built and ready to go for Joomla 1.6+ but it's here now. I've completely re-worked the way that it works compaired to Joomla 1.5.
It's now using proper MVC, the administration is translateable and now to modify the output you use the HTML view override. Here are some screenshots below demonstrating the different custom field administration panels.

This product is still under development and as always please let me know of any major issues, and any fixes or translations are ALWAYS accredited!

This is great! Works straight out of "the box"! For you who are not getting it to work, get the latest version and make shure that also the plugins are enabled.
Now, how can I
1) remove the customfield name from beeing published. I want the field content only, not the name of the field.
2) ad a formatting like myField to be able to format a certain field.
I can ad it for ALL field but that doesn't not help.
Maybe it possible to have the fieldname as a id or class identifier but I haven't tried that yet.
Where do I set the order of the fields?

I was having trouble with this, too.
I had to go to Extension:Extension Manager. Put 'udja' in the filter and click Search.
There were four entries that all had to be enabled.
After that, I opened an article in the article manager and there was a Custom Field button.

This is an excellent thought and exatly what I need, but unfortunately after installing the component and plugins I get a blank page when I want to open any article frontend or backend. Everything went back to normal after uninstalling this. I run the latest joomla 2.5.
If you could get this component to work properly I would be very happy.

Hi. Love your useful plugin, but its not working for me. I'm on Joomla 1.7 and have a multilanguage site, not otherplugins installed.
I'm able to create the custom fields, asign them into each article and activate the component. Every thing seems to be OK but, nothing happens on the website.
What could be happening? Thank you

Whops my formatting vanished but I need to be able to format a field using a div or sometimes a span or img with the fieldname as identifier, for instance:
[div id="myField"] 'field content' [/div]
lets see if the above is visible ...
