Joomla flickr feed module with jQuery and CSS
Saturday, 11 July 2009 14:15
Well after quite a high demand here is the release verion with jQuery slideshow effects and CSS options, you don't have to use them but they are there for the people who just want an easy switch on/off functionality for the slideshow. The way it works is that it will now fade in and out of the amount of images you have decided to pick from your flickr account. I am aware people want this to work for group feeds, and I will make a release that will work with group ID's in the mean time there is a solution for the time being for those willing to get their hands dirty. However this solution does not work with this jQuery version of my flickr feed module.
Missing GD library and FLV files not loading (Windows 2003 server)
Sunday, 05 July 2009 10:45
Just a quick note listing a few issues I've had playing around with a windows 2003 server trying to make PHP run on it. Basically I hade 5.2.3 PHP version installed and the GD library comes as default with the installation, and despite me enabling GD library within php.ini and it saying with--gdlib and in php.ini the GD lib was definately enabled with this: extension=php_gd2.dll and it still wasn't working and coming up with "undefined function imagecreatefromjpeg()" and I've been restarting IIS and everything to try and figure out this infuriating problem.Thomson trip to Tunisia, staying in Marhaba Palace Review
Monday, 29 June 2009 07:30
As many of you know I have been back from holiday in Tunisia with Thomson a little over a week now, and the reason for a lack of posts and updates is because I spent about half of last week writing a complaint letter. I just want to say to everyone out there that may be Googling this place to go onto holiday there, that, Tunisia is a really nice place providing you are told real facts about it when you purchase the holiday, and that the hotel is of a good quality. Here is a much much shortened version of the issues we had whilst there, and the lies we were fed during the Thomson trip to Tunisia.Flickr feed Joomla module
Saturday, 13 June 2009 18:25
In addition to the Flickr Feed code I intend on releasing to everyone when I get back from holiday in a weeks time, I have additionally made it into a Joomla! module for anyone and everyone to use and hopefully register it back to me. Anyway, there are a few things to go over with regards to the module:
Search HTML page content using Javascript
Saturday, 06 June 2009 17:17
I was helping a friend on a forum recently, and found quite a nifty tool to help him have a huge downloadable page, and keep the search functionality, and it was by using Javascript to make a Search function loop through the HTML elements within the page and detect the search results and highlight them using CSS. Anyway enough blabber, here is the code:Evil website javascript virus
Saturday, 06 June 2009 08:50
Hi all,
It been nearly 2 months since a blog post, and its mostly because untill the other day I have had a virus on the website which has prevented me from doing so! Its a nasty little javascript thing which attemps to redirect viewers to virus download pages, the most annoying thing however is that its self duplicating which means it was bleedy EVERYWHERE! however it only is able to duplicate to index.*** files so about an hour of trawling through all of the websites files (jesus there was a lot!) and now its gone!
If you see of it again, let me know - and expect some code snippets coming in the next few days, also I have officially decided that virus creators are sad virgins who live in their mums loft/garage!
Top Windows Downloads

Hi all,
I realised the links section of the website is generally a bit rubbish so I've decided to bulk it up a bit and also help by putting on the front end a list of applications that I can't have a PC running without them. I've come up with 10 at the moment but I want peoples emails so if you contact me and let me know of any suggestions to be added to this list.E-commerce class in PHP with Google Checkout
Thursday, 12 March 2009 20:21
Hi all,
Your probably wondering why I haven't had a post on here in a while and its because I have been coding a class file which is made to work with Google Checkout and potentially be a good class for everyone to use, naturally I will have to release it with notes and see what everyone thinks, but it should be quite nice to use!
Wordpress display/hide child LI tags on menu with PHP
Monday, 02 March 2009 21:24
Although I didn't make this code I still feel it needs to be in the knowledge base area rather than the links section as it needs to be available to search the site for it, anyway I was basicallly finding it quite hard to find a wordpress plugin which allows the LI/UL tags to automatically hide depending on wether their parent element is selected or not, kind of like an accordion effect but without the javascript.
Vertically centred website using CSS
Thursday, 26 February 2009 21:40
Placing your website in the centre of the screen can often be a potential minefield, but as a rule of thumb if you want to make a website that is just a box in the middle of the screen, which, is very aesthetically pleasing but does not use the real estate of the screen to its full usability. Anyway that a side you need to bare in mind the most common resolution (at the time of writing this post) is 1024x768 which means you only have about 950x565 to play with screen real estate.
